Having a fantastic idea
is not the major challenge of any startup in Nigeria and Africa at large; the
major challenge is building a minimum viable product (MVP) and access to
funding. That is what David Lanre Messan popularly known as DLM is doing with his
venture studio, First Founders
David Lanre Messan
started his entrepreneurial journey at a very tender age. By twenty-three, he
became a millionaire by selling digital books he had read over the years. At
twenty-five, he had become a millionaire over and over again, and was enjoying
the global popularity that comes with it. However, series of wrong life
decisions sent him to the rock bottom—he went bankrupt, was arrested and ended
up in depression for a year until a spiritual message jolted him back to
reality.
Like the usual cliché,
when you are this low, the only way is up, DLM picked up his broken pieces and
worked his way to the top again. Today
he is the Founder and CEO of First Founders, a venture studio that focuses on
funding and helping startups create valuable and sellable products from the
scratch. In this interview, read the roller coaster life experience of David
Lanre Messan and how First Founders can either fund your startup, or help you
raise funds from investors across the globe.
